The Siobhan Collins-McCarthy Dance Academy was founded by Ms. Siobhan Collins-McCarthy – a former international ballet dancer, scholarship recipient, worldwide Certified Pilates Instructor, and Registered Royal Academy of Dance Classical Ballet Teacher – in Santander, Spain in 2003, and subsequently relocated to Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom in 2005.
The Siobhan Collins-McCarthy Dance Academy is fully owned by Ms. Collins-McCarthy and operates at a number of leased locations in Birmingham including its primary place of business, The Moorpool Hall, The Circle, Harborne, Birmingham, B17 9DY.
Under the direction and leadership of its founder, owner and principal, Ms. Collins-McCarthy, the Academy offers
1. All forms of professional dance training for every age group including Royal Academy of Dance Ballet, Repertoire, Jazz Ballet, Neo-Classical Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Character, and Modern Dance
2. Physical education, primarily Pilates, related to physical training for every age group and rehabilitation training for individuals recovering from muscle and joint injuries including people from the armed services and people with disabilities. In addition, as the Principal of the Academy, Ms. Collins-McCarthy is engaged to teach Classical Ballet and Pilates at notable dance and fitness establishments and programmes including The Birmingham Hippodrome: Cat Momentum Programme and The Professional Development Class Programme; The Birmingham Botanical Gardens; and Ace Dance Company.
The Siobhan Collins-McCarthy Dance Academy employs qualified professional Ballet and Dance Teachers, Choreographers and Musical Accompanists.
The Academy enters students for The Royal Academy of Dance Examinations and has an exceptional rate of success with students receiving over 62 Merits and 24 Distinctions throughout the years.
Additionally, some students have attended the Pre-Vocational Programme at Elmhurst School for Dance and the Royal Ballet Associate Programme.
The Academy has also seen several of its students accepted to and performing with The English Youth Ballet Company, The Midlands Theatre Ballet Company at The Birmingham Royal Ballet, The National Youth Ballet of Great Britain: The Hackney Empire in London, The Ashcroft Theatre in Croydon, and The Birmingham Hippodrome. |
