The Siobhan Collins-McCarthy Dance Academy was founded by Ms. Siobhan Collins-McCarthy – a former international ballet dancer. A scholarship recipient, worldwide Certified Pilates Instructor, and Registered Royal Academy of Dance Classical Ballet Teacher with Distinction.
The Academy offers:
1. All forms of professional dance training for every age group including Royal Academy of Dance Ballet, Repertoire, Jazz Ballet, Neo-Classical Ballet, Spanish Dance, Contemporary, Character, and Modern Dance.
Also Pointe work, Pilates Classical Matwork and Body Conditioning.
2. Physical education, primarily Pilates, related to physical training for every age group and rehabilitation training for individuals recovering from muscle and joint injuries including people from the armed services and people with disabilities. In addition, as the Principal of the Academy, Ms. Collins-McCarthy is engaged to teach Classical Ballet and Pilates at notable dance and fitness establishments and programmes including The Birmingham Hippodrome: Cat Momentum Programme and The Professional Development Class Programme; The Birmingham Botanical Gardens; and Ace Dance Company.
The Siobhan Collins-McCarthy Dance Academy employs qualified professional Ballet and Dance Teachers, Choreographers and Musical Accompanists.
The Academy enters students for The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Examinations
and has an exceptional rate of success with students receiving over 100 Merits and
56 Distinctions throughout the years.
Additionally, some students have been selected for the Pre-Vocational Programme at Elmhurst School for Dance, Royal Academy of Dance Associates and
The Royal Ballet Associate Programme both in Birmingham and London.
Students also perform at The Royal Academy of Dance Genee Dance Challenge competition held at Birmingham Royal Ballet July season, winning Level 4 in 2011.
Students have gained places at vocational schools including Tring Park school for the Performing Arts, Northern Ballet School,
Kate Simmons Limited, The Urdang Academy, London Studio Centre, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Ballet West and The Hammond Specialist Performing Arts School.
The Academy has also seen several of its students accepted to and performing with
The English Youth Ballet Company, The Midlands Theatre Ballet Company at The Birmingham Royal Ballet, The National Youth Ballet of Great Britain: The Hackney Empire in London, The Ashcroft Theatre in Croydon, and The Birmingham Hippodrome. |
